Former Police Commission Chairman Steve Soboroff will lead the city's wildfire rebuilding effort, Mayor Karen Bass said Friday afternoon.
Soboroff, a real estate developer and longtime civic leader, will serve as the city's chief recovery officer.
“Our absolute priority is getting Angelenos back into their homes and rebuilding,” Bass said. “Steve knows our communities, he knows how to make City Hall work, and he knows how to engage the public, business, nonprofit and philanthropic resources needed for this monumental effort. There is no one better to build our rebuilding plan. Stronger, more resilient and more united than ever.
