Dead Ankona and his wife Valerie Mathews, East Sierra Nevada Mountains and Ankona's birthday Albukerki have been driving their 24-foot entertainment. Now, after the couple lost their Altadena house in the Eaton fire, RV gives them a lifeline.
Ankona, 73, said, “This is our home,” a 73 -year -old sits on a wooden tourism desk outside the RV at the San Dimas Camp Ground. “This is the house we left.”
Ankona and Mathews, 71, escaped from the fire with pictures they captured from the walls and their 14 -year -old mixed tab gate. Ankona went out on their truck and picked up the wheel of Mathews RV.
Following two nights at Rose Paul's parking lot, Ankona and Mathews found a place in the Pomegrany Park in the County Park and in the Camp Campland. They were grateful to escape the LA's punished home market, where thousands of families who had been evacuated by the Eaton and Polystes fire were discovered. Height riseTo be, Auction Wars And Lack of available homes.
But almost three weeks after the camp grounds, the couple face a deadline for Wednesday. The resort prohibits long stay.
“When I try to find out where we can go, panic spreads,” Mathews said.
Ancona and Mathews's experience illustrates the nest of restrictions that prevent displaced families for reconstruction or looking for a permanent home in another place. The rational of the rules set before the fire, and allowing more people to access entertainment areas, now have less power.
Rob Saginario, general manager of the RV Park's private operator, said his hands were tied up as the deadline was leased with the County County. He said many people were staying with wildfire in the park.
LA County leaders say they are aware of the problem and are planning to act before the date of exit Ancona and Mathews. On Tuesday, County Supervisors are likely to vote in the process of raising the limits of staying in two RV parks in the County -owned land during the emergency, Pomegrani Bluffs and Dackweiler State Beach. The latter is closed this month for annual maintenance, but will be reopened in February.
Supervisor Lindsay Harvat, who represents the surrounding areas, including the Pacific Polystestes and Doctrine, said, “We are obligated to meet our residents with security and support.

Dead Ankona had a pottery, and he and his wife were able to save the ruins of the 40 -year -old house destroyed by Eaton fire.

But County's action has not been extended to many RV parks belonging to the privately -owned RV parks, some of which have similar restrictions on how long it can be. Daniel Weisfield of the Grid, belonged to the 108-Lat RV Park in Lake Hugen, and his county clearance limitations will not be more than three weeks. Wisfield said he had asked the district authorities to withdraw the regime but was rejected.
“There is no justification for letting people stay in our park,” said Weisfield. “We are ready for people who have lost their homes. We are ready to say that we have no district.”
According to Susan Day, Assistant Director of the District Regional Planning Department, Susan Day, off the Grid is sitting in the most dangerous fire zone and restricting the period of RV parks lodging in those areas.
“We are constantly exploring many ways to help the victims of fire,” Day said. “However, these should be balanced to ensure long -term public health and safety for all district residents.”
Barger, including Lake Hughes, said that considering the home needs of the displaced residents and writing a separate proposal to eliminate time restrictions on private RV parks.
“I would like to explore all the potential solutions and I will decide what to do with the joint expertise of our Los Angeles district leaders,” said Parker.
Ankona and Mathews are hoping to get their retirement. For now, San Dimas is the best place to think. This is near their old home, Mathews's brother, who lives in Priya and allows Mathews to make previously planned physiotherapy meetings in Pasadeena to repair the broken right hand.
The pair are planning to rebuild in Ultadana. When Mathews was 4 years old, the house has been in their family since 1957. Five marriages of friends and family were held in the lawn before. They left the collection of 10 cars, photo albums and heirlooms in their families.
While they are waiting for the debris to be removed, Ancona and Mathews plan to go to San Francisco to stay with their daughter who is looking for their fourth grandchild.
But they believe that spending a few more weeks on the camp ground will help them heal.
“I have not canceled all my apps yet,” Mathews said. “There is so much time. You are talking on the phone and you put it on the bell. I can no longer think at 5 pm.
