Stretch of L.A. County beaches closed indefinitely due to fire debris – Jobsmaa.com

Increased debris from the recent rainfall and fire zones prompted the Los Angeles County to provide a consultation with public health officials and to close many miles of County beach from Malibu to Playa Del Ray.

“Firefighters and pollutants in water and sand may have chemicals for toxic or cancer, which can be harmful to health,” public officials said in a written statement. “This includes any flow that can flow into the beach sand or in the pool.”

While the beaches are closed, the County has released seawater quality rainfall for all Los Angeles County beaches until Thursday morning. Beach users advise users to avoid water contact for at least 72 hours after significant rain.

That consultation will be closed indefinitely due to the debris and chemicals that flow from the nearby water channels to the coastal sand, from the Surprider beach to the Los Flore State Beach and the Santa Monica State Beach to Togweiler State Beach.
