The Board of the Metropolitan Water District of South California promised to appoint a new high -man manager and gave a legal solution to the General Manager, Adel Hakegal, after seven months' trial of discrimination alleges of discrimination into California's largest urban water supplier.
The new leader of the MWD is Devan Upadhyay, who serves as the interim general manager.
The board members announced the decision after the third closed door meeting was held to discuss the findings of the allegations against Hakegal. The Board told Haccule that he had to accept the offer until 4 pm, which would end its term as general manager.
The findings of completed investigations are not publicly made. And the details of the proposed settlement have not been released immediately.
Kerry Carvis Wright, a lawyer of Hakegalle, pointed out that he would reject the offer.

“This decision is nothing but a political power capture, makes it clear the way to return to the old and old water policies,” Carvis Right said in an email. “In the last week, Mr. Hakegal offered to solve his legal claims against MWD, but now has no choice but to follow all his legal preferences to defend his rights and reputation.”
The chief financial officer of the agency, Katano Kasain, was left on leave in Hakegal in June in response to the allegation, accusing him of being sexually accused, and accused him of being harassed, humiliated, marginalized and creating a hostile workplace. He denied the allegations in Hakegal and said he had done nothing wrong.
During a general part of the meeting on Wednesday, Kazin criticized the MWD handling of the process, and the Board said, “The Board chose to reward Mr. Hakegal, despite false discoveries.”
Some of the allegations against Hakegal were publicly broadcast when Kasain complained to the group Leaked to the media in June.
Kasain's lawyer, Dan Calins, leaked his confidential letters regarding his complaints, saying that she was “aiming to become a target of bullying and general study, which has severely harmed her professionally.” Collins urged the MWD to openly and “publish the investigation report.”
Calins said that one of Cassin's complaints was confirmed by the investigation, and in Haccol, she said, “she treated her less favorably than her male colleagues.”
Carvis Wright said his customer did not engage in any misconduct, and that the investigation was “not confirming the environment in retaliation, harassment or hostility.”
He was the first Arabic American general manager of the district in Hakegal. His lawyer and supporters have said they are worried that anti -Arab sentiments can affect the investigation among some group members.
While on leave in Hakegal, a group member John Morris was censored by MWD Board FOPublishes a racist comment on another district employee. Officials of the agency said the case was not directly involved in the hakkal. Nevertheless, the MWD Board banned Morris from participating in trial debates and votes in Hakegal.
“The Board voted for its contract to stop its contract, which is a continuation of racism, discriminating and retaliation treatment with the agency,” said Carvis Wright. “As an Arab and Muslim American, he and others have organized opposition against him and subjected the open racist ideas and actions of the group members who voted against him.”
Metropolitan water district provides water to cities and agencies that provide 19 million people across South California. As the top manager of the district, he played an important role in the hakkal to replace the agency and change its water supply, which helps in the southern California climate change.
“Mr. MWD was hired in the reformed Hakegal, and he achieved significant achievements, guided the company through historical drought and received the best performance reviews every year, ”said Garvis Right. “However, the change is never easy. Some have seen the change threatening to change and filed a number of unfounded claims against him.”
