On Friday morning, Laguna fell somewhat on the coast of Laguna, smashing private staircases to the sand, provoking the authorities out of a part of the beach.

At around 7:15 am, about 500 cubic gajam bluff material fell on the beach near the beach, officials said. A search and rescue dog was brought out to ensure that no one was caught on the slide, and that three houses nearby were temporarily evacuated.
An airborne photo released by the city showed that there were damaged stairs and rocks on the beach below the houses located in the ridge above.
“This is a significant fall and we responded with a lot of caution to confirm that no one was harmful,” Laguna Beach Fire President Niko King said in a statement. “Fortunately no one is hurt. Although there is no immediate danger, it is important to be clear from the closed area when the ratings continue.”
Officials have asked the beach visitors to avoid the slide area while evaluating the damage and the integrity of the city.
Thousands of steps, also known as the 9th Street Beach, can be publicly accessed by the beach and steep staircase.
