Educational Qualification (As on 16.10.2025)
Candidates must have any one of the following qualifications:
- Degree in Engineering from a recognized university.
- Passed Sections A and B of the Institution of Engineers (India).
- Diploma or Degree in Engineering from a recognized foreign university approved by the Government.
- Passed Graduate Membership Examination of the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (India).
- Passed Associate Membership Exam Parts 2 and 3/Sections A and B of the Aeronautical Society of India.
- Passed Graduate Membership Examination of the Institution of Electronics & Radio Engineers, London (after Nov 1959).
Special Qualifications:
- For Indian Naval Armament Service (Electronics Engineering Posts) – M.Sc. in Wireless Communication, Electronics, Radio Physics, or Radio Engineering.
- For Indian Radio Regulatory Service (Group A) – M.Sc. with Physics, Electronics, or Telecommunication as a subject.

UPSC Engineering Services Salary 2025
Selected candidates will receive Pay Matrix Level 10 (₹56,100 – ₹1,77,500) plus Dearness Allowance, HRA, Medical, and other benefits as per central government rules.

The UPSC Engineering Services Examination will be conducted in three stages:
- Stage I – Preliminary Examination
- Stage II – Mains Examination
- Stage III – Personality Test (Interview)
