Selection Process
- The selection process may comprise of various shortlisting and selection tools such as Computer Based Test (CBT) / Written Test / Typing Test, Group Task, Psychometric Assessment, Skill Test, Moot Court, Personal/Technical Interview, Physical Fitness Efficiency Test (if applicable) etc., depending upon the position requirement.
- Computer Based Test (CBT): Consists of objective questions (subjective as well for Legal HR Officers) and comprises two parts:
- Part I – General Aptitude: English Language, Quantitative Aptitude Test & Intellectual Potential Test (Logical Reasoning and Data Interpretation).
- Part II – Technical / Professional Knowledge: Questions related to qualifying degree / educational background required for the applied position.
- CBT will be conducted tentatively on 3rd May 2026. HPCL reserves the right to reschedule the date of CBT.
- Questions will be based on syllabus hosted on Careers Page on corporate website (indicative, not exhaustive).
- Candidates qualifying in CBT, in order of merit and predetermined ratio, will be advised to upload supporting documents for certain positions.
- Shortlisted candidates will be called for Group Task and/or Personal Interview based on scrutiny of application, uploaded documents, and merit list.
- Candidates’ document verification shall be conducted before Personal Interviews.
- Candidates may be required to undergo Psychometric Assessments before/after Group Task/Personal Interview.
- Candidates must secure minimum qualifying marks in each applicable selection stage (CBT, Group Task, and Personal Interview) to be considered for further selection.
- A category and discipline-wise merit list will be drawn for all candidates who qualify in all applicable stages.
- The selected candidates would be required to join HPCL as per the date of joining mentioned in the Offer of Appointment.
General Information / Instructions
- Only Indian Nationals are eligible to apply.
- All computations of age / relevant experience / qualification shall be done with respect to the last date of receipt of online application i.e. 25th March 2026.
- All qualifications should be full-time regular courses from AICTE approved / UGC recognized University / Deemed University.
- Teaching & Research experience in an academic institute will not be considered as relevant work experience.
- Candidates currently employed at HPCL are not eligible to apply for Lateral Positions (positions where minimum experience is sought).
- Selected candidates will be on Probation for one year from the Date of Joining.
- Selected candidates will have to execute a service bond to serve the corporation for a minimum period of three years. Bond Amount: General – ₹3,00,000/-; EWS/OBC(NC)/SC/ST/PwBD – ₹50,000/-.
- A Retention Amount of ₹5,000/- per month will be deducted for Pay Scales ₹30,000–1,20,000 or ₹40,000–1,40,000 during the first 12 months of probation.
- A Retention Amount of ₹8,000/- per month will be deducted for Pay Scales from ₹50,000–1,60,000 till ₹90,000–2,40,000 during the first 12 months of probation.
- Appointment is subject to candidate being medically fit as per standards prescribed by the Corporation.
- Candidates would be required to clear Physical Fitness Efficiency Test (PFET) comprising Working at Height Test, Endurance Test, and Agility Test after PEME (wherever applicable).
- Depending upon the requirement of the Corporation, selected candidates can be placed anywhere in India or overseas at the discretion of the Management.
