A total of 276 vacancies (tentative) have been announced for the post of Management Trainee (Mining) in E-1 Grade. These are distributed across General (UR), EWS, SC, ST, and OBC (NCL) categories. The vacancy figures may increase or decrease as per actual requirements. EWS vacancies not filled in this recruitment year will not be carried forward as backlog to the next year.

CIL Management Trainee Recruitment 2026 – Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must fulfill all eligibility conditions as on the closing date of online application (07-06-2026). Only Indian Nationals are eligible to apply. A valid GATE-2025 score in Mining Engineering (Paper Code: MN) is mandatory – GATE scores of any other year (prior to or after 2025) will not be considered valid for this recruitment. The qualifying degree must be from a University/Institute recognized by the appropriate statutory authority in India and must be a regular full-time course.
Candidates having completed their degree or passed their final semester examination as on the cut-off date are eligible. In case of any dispute regarding admissibility of any particular qualification, the decision of the Chairman, Coal India Limited shall be final and binding.

The upper age limit is 30 years as on 30th April 2026 for General (UR) and EWS category candidates. Category-wise relaxations are available as specified below. The maximum age of any applicant on the crucial date (30th April 2026) shall not exceed 56 years under any circumstance. Departmental candidates of Coal India Limited or its Subsidiary companies are not subject to any age limit.

The online portal will be active from 08-05-2026 (10:00 AM) to 07-06-2026 (6:00 PM). Candidates are advised not to wait until the last date and to register and submit their application well within time. No modifications are allowed after the online application form is submitted. If more than one application is received from a candidate, the most recent/current application will be considered as final.
All documents must be uploaded as self-attested scanned copies – scanned documents that are not clear and legible may result in rejection of candidature.
