NSOU B.Ed. M.Ed Special Education 2026 notification is out. Netaji Subhas Open University (NSOU) has invited online applications for B.Ed. Special Education (IDD/HI/VI) and M.Ed. Special Education (IDD/HI) ODL programmes for the academic year 2026-27.

Netaji Subhas Open University (NSOU), Kolkata, offers recognized B.Ed. and M.Ed. Special Education programmes through Open and Distance Learning (ODL) mode. These programmes are approved by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) and UGC-DEB. Admissions are merit-based with offline central counselling.

Eligibility Criteria for NSOU B.Ed. Special Education 2026

• Candidates with RCI-recognized D.Ed. in Special Education + Bachelor’s/Master’s degree with 50% marks (55% for Engineering/Technology with Science & Maths).
• Candidates without D.Ed. Spl. Ed. but with Bachelor’s/Master’s degree with 50% marks (55% for B.E./B.Tech.) are also eligible.
• Relaxation for reserved categories as per West Bengal Govt. rules.
• Special weightage for parents of children with disability.

Eligibility Criteria for NSOU M.Ed. Special Education 2026

• B.Ed. Spl. Ed. in IDD/HI with 50% marks + valid RCI Registration, OR
• B.Ed. General + D.Ed. Spl. Ed. in IDD/HI with 50% marks each, OR
• PG Diploma in Special Education (recognized by RCI till 2014-15), OR
• 4-year Integrated B.Ed. Spl. Ed. with 50% marks + RCI Registration.
• Valid RCI CRR Number is mandatory.

B.Ed. Special Education (IDD/HI/VI):
Course Fee: ₹40,000/-
Processing Fee: ₹500/-

M.Ed. Special Education (IDD/HI):
Total Programme Fee: ₹85,000/- (₹40,000 at admission + ₹45,000 at 3rd Semester)
Processing Fee: ₹500/-

Seat Matrix & Study Centres

• B.Ed. Special Education (Total 400 Seats): IDD-200, HI-100, VI-100

• M.Ed. Special Education (Total 60 Seats): IDD-30, HI-30

Merit Calculation & Admission Procedure

Admission is purely on academic merit. Weightage is given to Madhyamik, HS, Graduation, Post-Graduation, and relevant Special Education qualifications. Special weightage (10 marks) for parents of children with disabilities.

2. Fill the online application form carefully.
3. Pay the processing fee of ₹500.
4. Upload required documents.
5. Submit the form before the deadline.
6. Wait for Provisional Merit List.
7. Attend Offline Central Counselling at NSOU HQ, Kolkata.
