The Union Public Service Commission has officially announced a massive 2026 recruitment Notification (Advt. No. 04/2026) to fill 45 Assistant Professor, Accounts Officer (AO), Assistant Research Officer, Assistant Mining Engineer, Senior Administrative Officer, Translator vacancies. The applicants satisfying the requisite qualification may apply through ONLINE MODE only, Apply Online on the official Web-site of this Union Public Service Commission i.e. https://upsc.gov.in/. The online application portal will be opened on 09.05.2026 for filling online applications and the date for closing the online application interface is 29.05.2026.

UPSC Eligibility Criteria:

Educational Qualification for UPSC: 

1. Assistant Library & Information Officer (Language – Kannada) – 
   • Educational Qualification:
     • Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University with Kannada as major subject; 
     • Bachelor’s Degree in Library d/eswScience or Library and Information Science of a recognized University or Institute. 
   • Experience: Two years’ professional Experience in a Library under Central or State Government or Autonomous or Statutory organization or Public Sector Undertaking or University or Recognized Research or Educational Institution.
     • Desirable:
     • Master’s Degree from a recognized University with Kannada as major subject;
     • Master’s Degree in Library Science or Library and Information Science of a recognized University or Institute;
     • Diploma in computer Applications from a recognized University or Institute or Board.
2. Associate Professor, Civil Engineering (Structural) – 
   • Educational Qualification:
     • Bachelor of Engineering/Bachelor of Technology in Civil Engineering and Master of Engineering/Master of Technology in Civil Engineering (Structural Engineering/ Structural and Foundation Engineering/ Structural Design/ Structural Dynamics and Earthquake Engineering/ Structural Engineering and Construction/ Structural Engineering and Construction Management) with first class or equivalent either in Bachelor of Engineering/Bachelor of Technology or Master of Engineering/Master of Technology and Doctor of Philosophy in the discipline of Civil Engineering. 
   • Experience: Minimum five years’ Experience in Teaching or Research or industry of which two years post Doctor of Philosophy Experience is desirable. 
   • Desirable: Post Doctor of Philosophy publications and guiding Doctor of Philosophy students.
3. Assistant Professor, Civil Engineering (Structural) – 
   • Educational Qualification:
     • Bachelor of Engineering/Bachelor of Technology in Civil Engineering and Master of Engineering/Master of Technology in Civil Engineering (Structural Engineering/Structural and Foundation Engineering/Structural Design/Structural Dynamics and Earthquake Engineering/Structural Engineering and Construction/ Structural Engineering and Construction Management) with first class or equivalent either in Bachelor of Engineering/Bachelor of Technology or Master of Engineering/Master of Technology.

5. Assistant Professor, Mechanical Engineering (Heat Transfer) – 
   • Educational Qualification:
     • Bachelor of Engineering/Bachelor of Technology in Mechanical Engineering and Master of Engineering/Master of Technology in Mechanical Engineering (Heat & Power/Heat Power &Thermal Engineering /Heat Power Engineering /Heat Ventilation &Air Conditioning/Power Plant Engineering and Energy Management/Thermal Engineering /Thermal and Fluid Engineering /Thermal Power Engineering /Thermal Science/Thermal Science Engineering /Thermal Science and Energy Systems/Thermal System and Design) with first class or equivalent either in Bachelor of Engineering/Bachelor of Technology or Master of Engineering/Master of Technology.
6. Translator(Chinese) –
   • Educational Qualification:
     • (a) Bachelor’s degree in the Foreign Language concerned (Chinese) with English as a compulsory or elective subject at Graduate level from an accredited University. OR (b) (i) Graduate with English as a compulsory or elective subject from an accredited University or Institution, and (ii) Diploma in Foreign Language concerned (Chinese) with interpretership or translation standard from a University or Institute recognized by Government of India.
   • Desirable: Three years’ Experience in teaching and/or translating relevant foreign language (Chinese) into English and vice-versa.
7. Translator(Tibetan) – 
   • Educational Qualification:
     • (a) Bachelor’s degree in the Foreign Language concerned (Tibetan) with English as a compulsory or elective subject at Graduate level from an accredited University. OR (b) (i) Bachelor degree with English as a compulsory or elective subject from a recognized University or Institution, and (ii) Diploma in Foreign Language concerned (Tibetan) with interpretership or translation standard from a University or Institute recognized by Government of India. 
   • Desirable: Three years’ Experience in teaching and/or translating relevant foreign language (Tibetan) into English and vice-versa.
8. Senior Administrative Officer Grade-II – 
   • Educational Qualification:
     • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited University or Institution.
   • Experience: Three (03) years’ Experience of administration, establishment or accounts work.
9. Assistant Mining Engineer – 
   • Educational Qualification:
     • B.E/B.Tech in Mining engineering from an accredited University or Institution. 
     • Two (02) years’ Experience in core Mining activity in:- (a) Supervisory position in Metalliferous (Non-coal) mines, which includes the period as Graduate or Management or Junior Trainee Engineer; or (b) Government Department dealing with mines and minerals in level-6 in the pay matrix (Rs. 35400-112400) or above. 
   • Desirable: Master of Engineering or Master of Technology in Mining Engineering from a recognized University or Institution.
10. Assistant Research Officer – 
    • Educational Qualification:
      • Master’s Degree in Ore Dressing or Mineral Processing or Geology or Physics or Chemistry from a recognized university or institution. OR Bachelor of Engineering or Bachelor of Technology degree in Mineral Engineering or Chemical Engineering or Metallurgy from a recognized University or Institutions. 
      • 02 years’ Experience in conducting mineral beneficiation or mineral Characterization for beneficiation of various ores and minerals from a recognized laboratory or beneficiation plant. 
    • Desirable: Master of Technology in Mineral Engineering from a recognized University or institutions.
11. Accounts Officer – 
    • Educational Qualification:
      • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited University or Institution.
      • Domicile: The recruitment is exclusively for Domiciles of the Union territory of Ladakh, in terms of the Ladakh Civil Services Decentralization and Recruitment – Grant of Domicile Certificate (Procedure) Rules, 2025, notified by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, and published in the Gazette of India (Extraordinary) dated 03.06.2025. Valid Domicile Certificate must be issued by the Tehsildar in the Administration of UT of Ladakh.
