Sambalpur University (SUNIV) has released the official Professor, Associate Professor, and Assistant Professor Notification 2026 at suniv.ac.in. A total of 84 vacancies have been announced under the SUNIV Faculty Recruitment 2026 across various Departments/Subjects/Colleges. Eligible candidates aged below 60 years with qualifications as per UGC Regulations (Master’s/Ph.D./NET/SLET as applicable for each post) can apply online from 15 May 2026 to 16 June 2026. Sambalpur University has officially released three separate recruitment notifications dated 04/05/2026 for filling up Regular Faculty positions (including backlog vacancies if any) of Professor, Associate Professor and Assistant Professor as per UGC eligibility criteria (UGC Notification 18th July, 2018) in various Departments/Subjects/Colleges. Pay scales are as per Odisha Revised Scales of Pay for University Teachers (UGC Scale of Pay) Rule, 2019 with usual dearness allowance and other allowances as sanctioned by the Government of Odisha. Vacancies have been announced for the posts of Professor, Associate Professor and Assistant Professor across various Departments/Subjects/Colleges. Reservation categories include UR (Unreserved), ST (Scheduled Tribe), SC (Scheduled Caste), SEBC (Socially and Educationally Backward Classes) and W (Women) sub-reservation. Sambalpur University Faculty Recruitment 2026 – Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must fulfill all eligibility conditions as on the closing date of submission of online application (16-06-2026). Eligibility is as per UGC Regulations Notification No. F.1-2/2017(EC/PS), dated 18th July 2018 and as amended from time to time. The period spent by candidates to acquire M.Phil. and/or Ph.D. degree shall not be considered as research experience. Candidates above 60 years will not be eligible to apply. Only matriculation/SSC certificate/pass certificate issued by the concerned educational board will be considered as proof of date of birth.

Sambalpur University Faculty Recruitment 2026 – Application Fee

Candidates are required to pay a non-refundable application processing fee online as per the bank details given in the HIMS online portal. Applications without the applicable fee will be summarily rejected. Candidates applying for more than one post must pay the processing fee separately for each post.

Sambalpur University Faculty Recruitment 2026 – Selection Process

The selection process for Sambalpur University Faculty Recruitment 2026 consists of screening/scrutiny in 3 (three) stages followed by an Interview. The list of eligible and ineligible candidates will be displayed on the University website. Shortlisted candidates will be called for interview. The screening/scrutiny and subsequent selection will be as per UGC Notification 18th July, 2018 and supported by the Act & Statute of the University (Table 3A of Appendix II for Assistant Professor and Table 2 of Appendix II for Associate Professor and Professor). The selection committee composition will be as per Odisha University Act 1989 as amended from time to time.

Candidates will be judged holistically covering cognitive domain (knowledge in subject’s domain), psychomotor domain (experience and skill), and affective domain (response to questions, confidence etc.). The vision and strength of candidates to empower students for developed Odisha, Vikashit Bharat including Aatmanirbhar Bharat will also be judged.

No TA/DA shall be paid to candidates for attending the interview.

How to Apply for Sambalpur University Faculty Recruitment 2026

Applications must be submitted online only through the HIMS Portal available at https://himsrecruitment.odisha.gov.in/home, which will be available from 15-05-2026. The online application can be filled in multiple sessions. Candidates willing to apply for more than one post must apply separately and pay processing fee for each application. No other application or CV should be sent by email or any other means.

After submitting the online application, candidates must download the PDF of the submitted application generated by the HIMS portal and send the hard copy along with all supporting documents via Registered Post/Speed Post to reach the University on or before 26-06-2026. The envelope must be superscribed “APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF …………………………….” along with the Advertisement No. and Date. No hard copy will be considered if the applicant fails to submit the online application on or before the closing date.

Persons employed in Government/Public Sector Enterprise/Autonomous Bodies must forward a copy of their application through proper channel or furnish a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the competent authority or employer. In-service candidates must forward the hard copy through proper channel or attach NOC so as to reach the University as per the specified date.

  • Documents should be uploaded in PDF/Image format with readability ensured; photograph should be uploaded in JPEG format with a size less than 200 KB.
