A total of 150 tentative vacancies have been announced across two broad categories: Technical Entry (Graduate Engineering, Diploma Engineering, and ITI Trades) and Non-Technical Graduate General. All positions are for One Year Apprentice Training under The Apprentices Act, 1961.
Category 1: Technical Entry – Graduate Engineering (BE / B.Tech) – Total: 75 Posts

GTRE DRDO Apprentice Recruitment 2026 – Eligibility Criteria
Only Indian Nationals are eligible to apply. Candidates must be registered on the NATS or NAPS portal before attending the walk-in interview. Only those candidates who have passed the qualifying examination in the year 2022 or later are eligible; candidates who passed before 2022 are NOT eligible. Only those who have passed as regular candidates are eligible. Candidates whose results have not been declared/available as on the date of interview will NOT be considered. Provisional Degree Certificates are acceptable at the time of joining; however, final degree certificates must be submitted as and when received.
The marks obtained in the qualifying examination must be mentioned in percentage. Candidates with CGPA must convert to percentage as per their university/institute norms; a document regarding the conversion formula must be produced during document verification.

GTRE DRDO Apprentice Recruitment 2026 – Selection Process
The selection process for GTRE DRDO Apprentice Recruitment 2026 is through Walk-in Interview only. Depending upon the vacancies available in various categories and disciplines, selection will be carried out by shortlisting on the basis of academic merit / written test / interview or a combination of the above, subject to satisfactory verification of documents. GTRE reserves the right to adopt its own method of shortlisting criteria and is not obliged to shortlist all candidates who fulfil the minimum requirement.
Selected candidates will be informed through email with further joining instructions. Results will also be published on www.drdo.gov.in. No correspondence shall be entertained from candidates not selected for training. No employment is offered to apprentices on completion of their apprenticeship training at GTRE.
Selected candidates must execute a contract for a period of one year of training as per the provisions of The Apprentices Act, 1961. The period of training will be one year commencing from the date of execution of the contract of apprenticeship.
How to Apply for GTRE DRDO Apprentice Recruitment 2026
Candidates must attend the walk-in interview on 6th June 2026 (Saturday) at Gas Turbine Research Establishment (GTRE), DRDO, CV Raman Nagar, Bengaluru – 560093. There is no online application form on the GTRE/DRDO website. Prior registration on the respective portal (NATS or NAPS) is mandatory before attending the walk-in interview.
Candidates must report at the venue by 0900 hrs. Candidates must bring the duly filled Registration Form (Annexure I) along with the Undertaking (Annexure II) in the prescribed format and all self-attested documents with original certificates for preliminary verification during the walk-in interview. No accommodation/transport/transport allowance will be provided by GTRE during the selection process or training.

Important Instructions for GTRE DRDO Apprentice Recruitment 2026 Candidates
- Only Indian Nationals are eligible to apply.
- Candidates must be registered on NATS (Graduate/Diploma) or NAPS (ITI) portal before attending the walk-in interview.
- Only candidates who have passed the qualifying examination in the year 2022 or later are eligible; those who passed before 2022 are NOT eligible.
- Only candidates who have passed as regular candidates are eligible; candidates who passed through distance or correspondence mode are not eligible.
- Candidates with higher qualifications than the essential qualification prescribed are NOT eligible.
- Candidates with training or job experience of one year or more after attaining the essential qualification are NOT eligible.
- Candidates who have already undergone or are currently undergoing apprenticeship training under any organisation are NOT eligible.
- Reservations will be applied as per provisions of The Apprentices Act, 1961; SC/ST/OBC Non-Creamy Layer candidates must produce relevant certificates issued by the Competent Authority.
- PWD candidates are eligible only for designated trades as per Apprenticeship Rules.
- Selected candidates must produce a valid police verification certificate at the time of joining from their place of last residence (for at least past one year) and permanent address.
- Selected candidates must produce a Certificate of Physical Fitness in the prescribed format issued by an authorised Medical Officer of any Government Hospital.
- Marks in the qualifying examination must be mentioned in percentage; candidates with CGPA must convert to percentage as per university/institute norms.
- Selected candidates must be in a position to join on the prescribed date; failure to report by the scheduled date will be treated as disinterest and candidature may be forfeited.
- Selected candidates must execute a contract for one year of training as per The Apprentices Act, 1961.
- Canvassing/influencing in any form shall lead to disqualification.
- This apprenticeship training does not carry any guarantee of employment at GTRE on completion.
- No accommodation/transport/transport allowance will be provided by GTRE during selection or training.
