TISS Recruitment 2026 – Eligibility Criteria
Assistant Professor in Law and Public Policy
- Master’s degree with 55% marks (or an equivalent grade) in law from a recognised university.
- Cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC or the CSIR, or a similar test accredited by the UGC, like SLET/SET, or have been awarded a Ph. D. Degree in accordance with UGC Regulations, 2009 or 2016.
- Ph.D. degree obtained from a foreign university/institution with a ranking among the top 500 in the World University Ranking (at any time) by QS, THE or ARWU.
- Desirable: Interdisciplinary academic background or training, teaching experience at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels, record of scholarly research, professional or field experience.
Post Doctoral Fellow
- Ph.D. degree in Law/ Law and Economics/ Law and Public Policy/Any other interdisciplinary discipline with explicit focus on Law, Legislative and Legal aspects of Public Policy (Provisional Certificate may be accepted in case the degree is not awarded).
- Desirable: Demonstrated research interest at the intersection of law and public policy, strong grounding in public law, regulatory law, or policy analysis, evidence of quality research output, familiarity with interdisciplinary research methods, willingness to undertake academic coordination or programme administration, ability to work collaboratively.

- Post Doctoral Fellow: Maximum age limit is 35 years.
- Age Relaxation: 5 years for SC/ST/OBC (Non-Creamy Layer)/Women/PWD (Persons with Disabilities) and Transgender candidates.
TISS Recruitment 2026 – Salary / Stipend
- Assistant Professors: Rs. 57700/- (Entry pay of Rs. 57700/- in the Academic Pay level 10 as per 7th CPC).
- Post Doctoral Fellowship: Rs. 80,000 consolidated with annual increment (if extended after one year) as per the Institute’s norms.
