The number of positions is provisional and may increase or decrease at the time of selection. Candidates who have already completed the total tenure of 6/7 years (as applicable) in any CSIR Lab/Institute as Project Staff are NOT ELIGIBLE to apply.

The upper age limit is 35 years for most Project Associate-I and Project Assistant-II positions, 28 years for JRF positions (if NET/GATE qualified), and 40 years for the Senior Project Associate position, as on the date of Written Test/Interview. Age relaxation is applicable for SC/ST/PwBD/Women (5 years) and OBC (3 years) candidates or as per Government of India instructions. The selection process for CSIR-CLRI Notification No. 03/2026 consists of 2 (two) successive stages — a Written Test (qualifying in nature) followed by a Personal Interview. Candidates who qualify the Written Test will be called for the Personal Interview on 25-05-2026 and 26-05-2026. The final selection and empanelment will be based on performance in the Personal Interview. Empaneled candidates may also be considered for future project requirements.
Important: Candidates who have qualified in NET/GATE or national level examinations conducted by CSIR/DBT/DST/ICMR/IIT/IISc/IISER/UGC/ICAR etc. need NOT appear for the Written Test. They can directly attend the Personal Interview as per the notified schedule.

How to Apply for CSIR CLRI Recruitment 2026
Candidates fulfilling the prescribed qualification and age criteria may appear directly for the Written Test at CSIR-CLRI, Triple Helix Auditorium, Sardar Patel Road, Adyar, Chennai – 600020 on 21-05-2026. Applications must be submitted in the prescribed Application Form enclosed as Annexure to the notification. Applications submitted in any other format will not be considered. Candidates should NOT send their applications by post/speed post/courier. No late entry beyond 10:30 AM will be permitted on the date of Written Test.
Candidates who qualify the Written Test must appear for the Interview with the duly filled Application Form along with self-attested photocopies of all requisite certificates/documents and original certificates for verification, a photo ID proof (Aadhar Card, Voter ID Card or any other photo ID issued by a Government Agency) and 2 passport-size colour photographs.

- These are purely temporary positions co-terminus with the projects; appointment does not confer any right for permanent appointment in CLRI/CSIR.
- Candidates who have completed a total tenure of 6/7 years (as applicable) in any CSIR Lab/Institute as Project Staff are NOT ELIGIBLE to apply.
- Final year/Semester students awaiting results are NOT ELIGIBLE to be considered.
- NET/GATE or national level exam qualified candidates (CSIR/DBT/DST/ICMR/IIT/IISc/IISER/UGC/ICAR) need not appear for the Written Test and can directly attend the Personal Interview.
- Candidates must NOT be late beyond 10:30 AM on the date of Written Test; no entry will be permitted after that.
- No Travelling Allowance (TA/DA) will be paid for attending the Written Test or Interview.
- Incomplete application forms without requisite information, certificates/documents, or photograph are liable to be rejected.
- Any discrepancy found between the information given in the application and the original documents will make the candidate ineligible for the Interview.
- Canvassing in any form or bringing political influence will be treated as disqualification.
- The date of determining qualification and age shall be the date of Written Test/Interview.
