NIOT Chennai Notification2026: Notification for 30 Apprentice Vacancies | Apply Online!

The National Institute of Ocean Technology (NIOT), Chennai has officially announced a massive 2026 recruitment Notification (Advt. No. NIOT/E&P/03/2026 (Apprenticeship)) to fill 30 Technician (Diploma) Apprentices, Graduate (Degree) Apprentices vacancies. The applicants satisfying the requisite qualification may apply through ONLINE MODE only, Apply Online on the official Web-site of this National Institute of Ocean Technology (NIOT), Chennai i.e. https://www.niot.res.in/. The online application portal will be opened on Date of Interview: 10.06.2026 for filling online applications and the date for closing the online application interface is .

  • Mechanical Engineering – Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
  • Electrical and Electronics Engineering – Diploma in Electrical and Electronics Engineering
  • Electronics and Communication Engineering – Diploma in Electronics and Communication engineering
• Graduate (Degree) Apprentices – 
  • Mechanical Engineering – B.E/B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering 
  • Civil Engineering – B.E /B.Tech in Civil Engineering 
  • Electronics and Communication engineering (ECE) – B.E /B.Tech in ECE
  • Chemistry/Biology/ Physics / Biotechnology / Marine Biology – B.Sc. (Chemistry / Biology / Physics) B.Tech (Biotechnology / Marine Biology) 
  • Computer Science / Computer Applications – B.Sc. (Computer Science)/ B.E/B.Tech(CSE) / BCA
  • Commerce, Accounting & Finance – Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) / Accounting & Finance  

Note: Engineering / Diploma/ Non-Engineering Graduates who have passed out their Degree / Diploma from the AICTE/DOTE/UGC approved institutions respectively, within 05 years after qualifying their examinations are eligible.

Age Limit for NIOT:

1. Technician (Diploma) Apprentices – Minimum 18 years and maximum 24 years
2. Graduate (Degree) Apprentices – Minimum 21 years and maximum 26 years

Relaxation of Upper age limit: 

• +5 Years for ST/SC  
• +3 Years for OBC (NCL)  
• Persons with Disabilities candidate:
  • +10 Years for UR  
  • +13 Years for OBC (NCL)  
  • +15 Years for ST/SC
• For Ex-Servicemen Applicants: As per Govt. Policy

Stipend for NIOT:

1. Technician (Diploma) Apprentices – Rs.12000/- (of which Rs.4000 will be paid by Government under DBT Scheme)
2. Graduate (Degree) Apprentices – Rs.13000/- (of which Rs.4500 will be paid by Government under DBT Scheme)

How to Submit an Application:

• Candidates are advised to register as Technician (Diploma) / Graduate (Degree) Apprentices online in the following portal under the respective state as per their discipline in https://nats.education.gov.in/ 
• The Candidates appearing for Walk-in-interview must register in the above mentioned portal and their enrolment number should be quoted in the application.
• Candidates have to submit their duly filled-in application form available in NIOT Website along with original and self-attested copies of certificates, mark sheets, proof of date of birth (copy of SSLC/HSC), Aadhaar Card, a passport size color photograph at the time of interview.
