TNJFU Admission 2026: Tamil Nadu Dr. J. Jayalalithaa Fisheries University, Nagapattinam has officially invited online applications from eligible Applicants for admission to B.F.Sc, BBA, B.Tech, B.Voc programs for the 2026-2027 academic year. This Undergraduate admission is strictly for 12th Students.

Eligibility Criteria:

Educational Qualification:

• B.F.Sc. & B.Tech. Courses
  • A pass in the Higher Secondary (12th) Course in 10+2 pattern (State Board / CBSE / any other examination recognized as equivalent thereto) 
  • Candidates belonging to Tamil Nadu State alone are eligible to apply. 
  • However, candidates from other states are eligible to apply for B.Tech. (Biotechnology) under the Other State Quota.
• Minimum qualifying marks: 
  • Open Competition (OC) – 55% aggregate of all the four required subjects 
  • Backward Class (BC)/Backward Class Muslim (BCM) – 50% aggregate of all the four required subjects
  • Most Backward Class and Denotified Communities (MBC & DNC) – 45% aggregate of all the four required subjects
  • Scheduled Caste (SC/SCA) – A Pass in qualifying examination with four required subjects
  • Scheduled Tribe (ST) – A Pass in qualifying examination with four required subjects
• B.B.A. and B.Voc. courses
  • A pass in the Higher Secondary Certificate (State Board / CBSE / any other examination recognized as equivalent thereto).
  • Candidates from any academic / vocational stream belonging to Tamil Nadu State are eligible to apply. 
  • However, other state candidates are eligible for B.B.A. (Fisheries Enterprises Management) only. 

Eligible subjects of study in the qualifying examination:

• Academic Stream
  • B.F.Sc. – Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology (OR) Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics/ Mathematics–Sci (OR) Physics, Chemistry, Biology with any one of the fourth (elective) subjects viz., Biotechnology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Computer Science, Home Science, Agriculture, Horticulture, Informatics practices, Environmental Science, Information technology.
  • B.Tech. – (Fisheries Engineering) Mathematics/ Mathematics–Sci, Physics, Chemistry and Biology (OR) Mathematics/ Mathematics–Sci, Physics, Chemistry and Computer Science / Informatics practices / Information technology.
  • B.Tech.(Biotechnology) (Self-supporting mode) – Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology (OR) Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics/ Mathematics–Sci (OR) Physics, Chemistry, Biology with any one of the fourth (elective) subjects viz., Biotechnology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Computer Science, Home Science, Agriculture, Horticulture, Informatics practices, Environmental Science, Information technology
  • B.Tech.(Food Technology) (Self-supporting mode)/ B.Voc.(Industrial Fish Processing Technology)/ B.Voc.(Industrial Aquaculture)/ B.Voc.(Industrial Fishing Technology) – Average of all subject marks of 12th standard and any higher secondary stream approved by the Govt. of TN/India
• Vocational Stream (5%) – B.F.Sc. only
  • Candidates who passed a Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) under the Vocational stream and studied Biology and Agricultural Practices as vocational subjects including theory and practical. 
  • Candidates who passed a Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) under the Vocational stream and studied Biology, Agricultural Science – Theory, Agricultural Science – Practical and Computer Technology as vocational subjects. 
  • Candidates who passed a Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) under the Vocational stream and studied Biology, Agricultural Science – Theory, Agricultural Science – Practical and Employability Skills as vocational subjects.

Age Limit:

• Candidates applying for the above said courses (except B.Voc.) should not have completed the age mentioned below as on 01-07-2026. 
  • SC/SCA/ST candidates : No age limit 
  • Other candidates : 21 years 
  • Differently abled : 26 years 
• Note: There is no age limit to the candidates applying for 3-year B.Voc. degree courses.

Selection Process:  

Application Fee for TNJFU:  

• Application fee for Tamil Nadu candidates from OC/BC/BCM/MBC/DNC – Rs.500/-
• Application fee for Tamil Nadu candidates from SC/SCA/ST – Rs.250/- 
• Counselling fee for Tamil Nadu candidates from OC/BC/BCM/MBC/DNC – Rs.600/- 
• Counselling fee for Tamil Nadu candidates from SC/SCA/ST – Rs.300/- 
• Application fee for Other State candidates – Rs.500/- 
• Counselling fee for Other State candidates – Rs.600/-
